We are extremely excited to release the second live album by The Madeira, recorded at the 10th Surf Guitar 101 Convention at the Alpine Village in Torrance, CA on August 5th, 2017. It was recorded and mixed by Mark Linett, triple-Grammy-winning producer and audio engineer who has worked with a long list of legendary artists, among them the Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, Frank Zappa, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Paul Simon, Los Lobos, Jane's Addiction, and Los Straitjackets. The track list is focused on the songs from the band's most recent studio album, Ancient Winds. They're joined for the final three tracks of the set by the legendary surf guitarist and surf music historian John Blair (Jon & the Nightriders) on second rhythm guitar, as well as Jonpaul Balak (Insect Surfers, the Tikiyaki Orchestra, Tikiyaki Five-O, DJ at Fiberglass Jungle on Luxuria Music) on second bass guitar, making for an epic six-person line-up and a sound that can only be described as extraordinary in its scope! The cover and the CD package were designed by Stephen Blickenstaff, the well-known artist behind dozens of album covers (and many other artistic endeavors), including most famously "Bad Music for Bad People" by the Cramps.

The Madeira are back with their most diverse release to date - soaring guitars, pounding rhythms and exquisite, nuanced songwriting make this perhaps the best release by the band so far. Their previous studio CD, Tribal Fires, was named as the runner-up in Pipeline Instrumental Review's "Album Of The Year" awards for 2012 (and their latest release, the live Sonic Cataclysm album, won the Pipeline album of the year award last year), but this disc somehow manages, through the relentless efforts of all four musicians, to top it in what's sure to be one of the top releases of 2015. Ancient Winds features 12 original songs as well as a cover of The Atlantics' "Coral Island". Several of the songs were collaborations with some of the premier guitarists and songwriters of the last 50 years, including Jim Skiathitis of The Atlantics, Danny Snyder of The TomorrowMen, Jeremy Dehart of the Aqualads and Alex Faide of Los Twang! Marvels. Original cover art was created by Lorraine Schleter and CD layout by Ferenc Dobronyi.
Now available on vinyl!

It's the 10th anniversary of the famed surf/instro rock combo The Madeira, and to celebrate they're releasing their first ever live CD! Recorded at the Melody Inn in Indianapolis in December, 2013, over two nights, the band delivered an amazing set packed with long-time fan favorites, some choice cover tunes and even a few brand new songs from their upcoming full-length studio release! The originals are "Farthest Shore" and "Caravela", while the covers are Dick Dale's "Night Rider", the Fender IV's "Everybody Up!" and Los Relampagos' "Macarena". It was recorded and mixed by Tommy Schichtel of The Concussions, and features amazing, moody cover art by the incomparable Steve Blickenstaff.

After eight years of adventures through the Saharan deserts, with “Tribal Fires” the Madeira have gone Sub-Saharan, into the dark and mysterious depths of central African jungles. It’s a journey that finds the band exploring new sounds with a highly diverse album, ranging from the most aggressive to the most melodic songs (including a tribute to The Shadows) the band has ever done – and everything in between. There are 13 songs in total, of which two are covers: an original arrangement of Ernesto Lecuona’s “Jungle Drums,” and the Atlantics’ “Giant”.

Hot on the heels of their debut full-length CD comes a great new 5 song CD-EP by The Madeira. Released just in time for their 2006 West Coast tour, this disc features covers of songs by Dick Dale, The Treble Spankers, Paco de Lucia and The Surf Coasters, but done in a way that sounds 100% like The Madeira!

It's the debut CD by The Madeira, a new Indianapolis-based combo led by Ivan Pongracic (formerly of The Space Cossacks). If you liked his former band (and who didn't?) you will absolutely flip over his new combo. In some ways this is probably similar to what a 3rd 'Cossacks CD would have sounded like, but he takes this group in directions that perhaps wouldn't have been possible before. It's got 13 great tunes and only one cover. Phil Dirt, Rick of The Volcanos, and others were blown away when they heard advance copies of this release - this is sure to be one of the top releases of 2005!
